Scope

This part of GB/T 37820 specifies the standard signs and safety warnings used on ships. The signs are classified and indexed according to the safety information they convey. The preferred format, usage environment, and descriptions of potential users are provided together with the signs. According to ISO 3864-4, the shapes and colors used in the signs are given along with the graphic symbols in the signs. This part specifies standard prototypes, which can be scaled proportionally for manufacturing and use according to the purpose. This part also specifies supplementary textual signs to enhance understanding, which can be used together with the prototype signs. As new ship signs and warnings are added, new requirements are identified, and corresponding safety signs and warnings are developed and standardized, this part will be continuously revised. Some of the signs in this part are given with corresponding sign numbers in ISO 7010.
