Scope

This part of GB/T 14455 specifies the method for determining the ester value or ester content of fragrances. This part is applicable to the determination of the ester content of single esters in isolated and synthetic fragrances, and the ester value of essential oils. This part is not applicable to the determination of the ester content of mixed esters and esters that are difficult to saponify, or the ester value of essential oils containing lactones or a large number of aldehydes.
