Scope

This standard specifies the performance requirements for electromagnetic relays and contactors (hereinafter referred to as "products") used in aircraft 28 V DC or 115 V/200 V, 400 Hz three-phase AC systems (with the characteristics specified in ISO 1540) with a contact rated current value of not less than 5 A (AC, DC). Auxiliary contacts may have lower rated values. The products specified in this standard are divided into three temperature grades and three types of sealing.
This standard applies to single-pole and multi-pole products that are controlled by 28 V DC or 115 V, 400 Hz AC voltage and feature electromagnetic actuation, magnetic retention, or electromagnetic actuation and mechanical or magnetic self-locking.
