Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, and storage for sealed lead-acid batteries used in electric assist bicycles. This standard applies to sealed lead-acid batteries (hereinafter referred to as batteries) and battery packs used in electric bicycles, electric scooters, small electric assist vehicles, golf carts, and other vehicles that primarily use batteries as a power source. The sulfuric acid electrolyte in the batteries is non-flowing, and it is adsorbed in the microporous structure between the electrodes or exists in the form of a colloid. This standard does not apply to other lead-acid batteries and battery packs used for starting, electric road vehicles, or traction purposes.
