Scope

This standard specifies the ultrasonic testing method and quality grading for circumferential butt welded joints of steel pipelines. This standard applies to ultrasonic testing of circumferential butt welded joints of steel pressure pipelines with a wall thickness of 15 mm or more and a nominal diameter of 159 mm or more. This standard does not apply to ultrasonic testing of circumferential butt welded joints of cast steel and austenitic stainless steel pipelines.
