Scope

This document specifies the requirements for standard photovoltaic cells used in aerospace applications, screening test methods, calibration and transfer, maintenance, storage, and transportation requirements.
This document is applicable to monocrystalline silicon, single-junction gallium arsenide, and multi-junction gallium arsenide standard photovoltaic cells. It is used for testing single cells, modules, assembly boards, and arrays of photovoltaic cells used in aerospace applications, and for calibrating or determining the total irradiance established by the test light source on the surface of the photovoltaic cells being tested.
