Scope
This standard specifies the identification of brake fluids (petroleum-based, non-petroleum-based, or silicone-based) for the braking systems and hydraulic systems of road vehicles (including motorcycles and mopeds), as well as the graphic symbols used to identify brake fluids.
This standard applies to the identification marks on brake fluid containers for commercial purposes and on brake fluid containers installed on vehicles (hereinafter referred to as "containers").
