Scope
This document describes the measurement method of sound power level for reciprocating internal combustion engines—the simplified method.
This document is applicable to reciprocating internal combustion engines within the scope of ISO 3046-1, as well as the determination of sound power levels for other internal combustion engines for which there are no suitable standards available.
Note: In this document, unless otherwise specified, reciprocating internal combustion engines are referred to as "engines".
