Scope

This document specifies the acceptance test procedures for valves used in environments where volatile pollutant gases or dangerous gases may be generated, to inspect for leaks at the connection points between the valve stem (shaft) and the valve body. This document applies to the leakage testing of industrial valves that have leakage requirements during production and delivery. This document does not apply to product acceptance tests for end connections, vacuum applications, or situations involving corrosion or radiation.
