Scope

This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, storage, and quality certificates for aluminum and aluminum alloy extruded rods used in general industry (hereinafter referred to as rods).
This standard applies to rods with a circular cross-section (hereinafter referred to as round rods), rods with a square cross-section (hereinafter referred to as square rods), and rods with a regular hexagonal cross-section (hereinafter referred to as hexagonal rods).
