Scope

This document specifies the environmental classification of high-altitude nuclear electromagnetic pulses (HEMPs) and is applicable to the determination of the immunity requirements of products (such as equipment or subsystems) containing electrical or electronic components, to ensure that these products can function normally when exposed to HEMP wave radiation during and/or after radiation.
This document is primarily intended for personnel who establish product immunity requirements and/or other immunity requirements, providing guidance for selecting immunity test levels for all components, devices, equipment, subsystems, or systems containing circuits that may be disturbed by electromagnetic signals.
