Scope

This document describes the physical and electrochemical properties testing methods for electrocatalysts used in proton exchange membrane fuel cells, including water content, metal element content, specific surface area and pore size distribution, morphology and particle size distribution, crystalline structure, bulk density, and other physical properties, as well as tests for electrochemical active specific surface area, oxygen reduction activity, durability, metal element dissolution rate, and carbon monoxide (CO) resistance.
This document is applicable to platinum-based (Pt-based) electrocatalysts used in hydrogen-fueled proton exchange membrane fuel cells. Other types of proton exchange membrane fuel cells can be used as a reference for this document.
