Scope

This part of GB/T 5158 specifies the method for determining the oxygen content in metal powders that can be reduced by hydrogen, with an oxygen content range of 0.05% to 3% (by mass).
This part is applicable to various metals, partially alloyed or fully alloyed metal powders, carbides (tungsten carbides), and mixtures of bonded metals. This method is not suitable for powders containing lubricants or organic binders.
This part can also be applied to carbon-containing powders produced by special catalytic devices.
This part should be used in conjunction with GB/T 5158.1 and ISO 760.
