本文件规定了医疗保健产品、部件、原材料或包装（表面或内部）存活微生物计数和微生物鉴定，并提供了指南。
注1：微生物鉴定的特性和程度取决于生物负载数据的预期用途。
注2： 第1~9章的指南见附录A。
本文件所规定的要求不适用于病毒、朊病毒或原生动物污染物的计数或鉴定，包括海绵状脑病的病原体的采集和检测，例如瘙痒病、牛海绵状脑病和克雅氏病。
注3： ISO 224423、ICH Q5A（R1）和ISO 13022给出了灭活病毒和朊病毒的适用指南。
本文件不适用于医疗保健产品生产环境的微生物监测。
