Scope

This standard specifies standard-type (Type A) elastic retaining rings for shafts with a diameter of d1 = 3 mm to 300 mm, and heavy-duty (Type B) elastic retaining rings for shafts with a diameter of d1 = 15 mm to 100 mm. It also provides design data for the grooves used to install the retaining rings. This standard is applicable to elastic retaining rings that can withstand axial forces and are used to fix parts or components (such as rolling bearings) on shafts.
