Except for the following content, this chapter of the general standard applies.

Addition:

This dedicated standard specifies the requirements for the safety and basic performance of automatic cyclic non-invasive blood pressure monitoring devices defined in 2.102. This dedicated standard will hereinafter refer to automatic cyclic non-invasive blood pressure monitoring devices as "devices". The devices may be either attended devices or unattended devices.

This dedicated standard does not apply to blood pressure measurement devices that use finger sensors or semi-automatic blood pressure measurement devices that require manual activation for each measurement.
