Scope
This standard specifies a method for determining the content of free α-, β-, γ-, and δ-tocopherols and tocotrienols in animal and plant oils by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
For products containing tocopherol esters and tocotrienol esters, it is necessary to subject them to saponification treatment first.
Note: Suitable methods, including the low-temperature saponification method, are described in Appendix B.
