Scope

This standard specifies the methodological principles, general requirements, imaging systems, test pieces, coupling agents, inspection procedures, result evaluation, and recordkeeping and reporting for ultrasonic C-scan testing of fiber-reinforced resin-based composites.
This standard is applicable to the ultrasonic C-scan detection of delamination and voids in fiber-reinforced resin-based composites such as carbon fiber and glass fiber products (hereinafter referred to as the inspected items).
