Scope

This document specifies the rules for collecting human body shape data using three-dimensional surface scanning systems, as well as the rules for measuring the human body dimensions defined in GB/T 5703—2023 that can be extracted from three-dimensional scanned images; it also provides test procedures for obtaining human body shape data and dimensions using three-dimensional surface scanning systems.
This document is applicable to full-body human scanners and segmental scanners (such as head scanners, hand scanners, and foot scanners). It is also applicable to human scanners that perform human body measurement in a single view. When evaluating handheld scanners, the operator themselves may influence the overall error. When the target object in the evaluated system rotates, motion artifacts may occur, which will also affect the total error.
The test procedures for evaluating the reproducibility of marker position identification given in this document are applicable to markers determined by human body measurement experts, but not to marker positions automatically calculated by point cloud software.
This document is not applicable to devices used to measure the position and/or movement of individual markers.
This document is intended for users including those who create one-dimensional and three-dimensional human measurement databases using three-dimensional scanners, users of human measurement data, and designers and manufacturers of three-dimensional scanners.
