Scope

This standard specifies the rules for collecting human body shape data using three-dimensional surface scanning systems, as well as the rules for measuring the human body dimensions defined in GB/T 5703 that can be extracted from three-dimensional scanned images. This standard does not apply to devices used to measure the position and/or movement of markers.
This standard is primarily applicable to full-body human scanners, but it also applies to segmental scanners (such as head scanners, hand scanners, and foot scanners).
The intended users of this standard include those who use three-dimensional scanners to create one-dimensional human measurement databases, as well as users of such one-dimensional human measurement data. Although this standard is not intended for designers and manufacturers of three-dimensional scanning systems, it helps them better meet the needs of customers who establish and use one-dimensional human measurement databases.
