GB/T 20888.2-2020 Machinery for forestry—Safety requirements and testing for pole-mounted powered pruners—Part 2:Machines for use with back-pack power source
Basic Information
Scope
This part of GB/T 20888 specifies the safety requirements and test methods for rod-type backpack power pruning saws (hereinafter referred to as "backpack pruning saws") with a backpack-type power unit and a power source that transmits power to the cutting components via a drive shaft. In this part, the cutting components refer to saw chains and saw blades that perform reciprocating or rotating movements. This part proposes methods to eliminate or reduce various hazards caused by the use of backpack pruning saws and stipulates the requirements for safety operation information provided by manufacturers.
This part and the relevant chapters of Part 1 of GB/T 20888 cover all serious hazards associated with backpack pruning saws during normal use and reasonable, foreseeable misuse, but do not address electric shock hazards caused by contact with overhead cables (except for the warnings and recommendations contained in the user manual) and whole-body vibration hazards caused by backpack power units.
Note 1: There are currently no standard test procedures for measuring whole-body vibration caused by backpack power units.
Note 2: For a list of serious hazards, please refer to Appendix A.
This part applies to products manufactured after its implementation.
