GB/T 38696.2-2020 Eye and face protection—Intense light sources(non-laser)protector—Part 2:Guidance for use
Basic Information
Scope
This part of GB/T 38696 specifies the risk assessment and control measures for optical radiation damage of protective glasses against strong light sources (non-laser), the selection of protective glasses, wearing comfort, and secondary safety, etc.
This part is applicable to eye protection equipment for preventing the harm of strong light sources with a radiation wavelength between 250 nm and 3,000 nm.
This part provides guidelines for the selection of protective glasses against strong light sources (non-laser), and provides a more rigorous set of protective procedures to prevent eye damage from the spectral output of strong light sources (non-laser) equipment, which can be used by users, manufacturers, suppliers, and safety consulting agencies of protective glasses against strong light sources (non-laser).
This part is not applicable to welding protective glasses, laser protective glasses, sunglasses, ophthalmic instruments, components installed on sun exposure or other medical cosmetic equipment.
Note: Protective glasses against strong light sources are widely used in fields with strong light source hazards, such as industrial processing, food processing, greenhouse cultivation, medical cosmetology, water treatment, and light curing.
