Scope

This part of GB/T 38696 specifies the classification, technical requirements, marking, and user manuals for protective glasses against strong light sources (non-laser).
This part applies to eye protection devices that protect against the hazards of strong light sources with a radiation wavelength between 250 nm and 3,000 nm.
This part does not apply to welding protective glasses, laser protective glasses, sunglasses, ophthalmic instruments, or components installed on sun-tanning or other medical cosmetic equipment.
Note: Protective glasses against strong light sources are widely used in fields with strong light hazards, such as industrial processing, food processing, greenhouse cultivation, medical cosmetology, water treatment, and light curing.
