Scope

This document specifies the metallographic structure, the effective hardening layer depth, and the testing methods for the surface and core hardness of steel automotive gears subjected to carbon-nitrogen co-infiltration treatment.
This document is applicable to the quality inspection of automotive gears with an effective hardening layer depth of more than 0.3 mm after completing all heat treatment processes.
