Scope

This document specifies the design and structure, requirements, acceptance tests, and marking and labeling requirements for anchor winches and anchor hoists used on marine vessels. This document applies to electric, hydraulic, pneumatic, or externally driven anchor winches and anchor hoists used on marine vessels, with the main types as follows: -- Symmetric double anchor chain wheel anchor winches (Type 1); -- Single anchor chain wheel anchor winches (Type 2); -- Single anchor chain wheel anchor devices (Type 3 and Type 4); -- Anchor hoists (Type 5); -- Double anchor chain wheel coupled anchor winches (Type 6). Anchor mooring combination machines are also subject to ISO 3730 in addition to this document.
