Scope

This document describes a method for determining the thermal diffusion coefficient in the thickness direction of plastic films and sheets using temperature wave analysis. This document is applicable to isotropic or anisotropic plastic structures, with a thermal diffusion coefficient α ranging from 1.0×10-8 m2·s-1 to 1.0×10-4 m2·s-1. The tests specified in this document can be conducted in air or other gases, such as inert gases; they can be performed at atmospheric pressure or under other low or high pressures or in a vacuum; and they can be conducted at different temperatures.
