Scope

This document describes:
a) an overview of corrosion hazard testing methods;
b) corrosion hazard measurement methods;
c) factors to be considered in testing methods;
d) the relevance of corrosion hazard data to risk assessment.
This document is intended for product committees to use in preparing standards in accordance with the principles set out in IEC Guide 104 and ISO/IEC Guide 51, and is not intended for use by manufacturers or certification bodies.
One of the tasks of product committees is to use this series of standards whenever applicable when preparing standards in this field. Unless specifically mentioned or listed in the relevant standards, the requirements, testing methods, or testing conditions in this document will not apply.
