Scope

This standard specifies the method for determining the vanadium content by the ammonium ferric sulfate titration method.
This standard is applicable to the determination of vanadium content in steel and alloys ranging from 0.1% (m/m) to 3.50% (m/m).
This standard is not applicable to the determination of vanadium content in samples containing more than 20% (m/m) cobalt, more than 0.01% (m/m) cerium, more than 20% (m/m) chromium, more than 20% (m/m) manganese, or more than 18% (m/m) tungsten, as well as samples containing less than 0.4% (m/m) vanadium.
