Scope

This document describes the characteristics of ultra-fast front-wave overvoltage and common measurement methods for ultra-fast front-wave overvoltage, and specifies the basic requirements, transfer characteristics, and verification procedures of the measurement system.
This document is applicable to the measurement of ultra-fast front-wave overvoltage generated by the operation or internal destructive discharge of gas-insulated metal-enclosed switchgear, especially the measurement systems for the following three types of ultra-fast front-wave overvoltage:
—— Internal ultra-fast front-wave overvoltage;
—— Transient shell voltage;
—— External ultra-fast front-wave overvoltage.
