GB/T（Z) 18975规定了与流程工厂的设计、建设和运行相关的信息表示方法。该表示方法支持：
——流程工业在工厂生命周期的各个阶段对信息的要求。
注1：流程工业包括石油和天然气生产、炼化、发电以及化学品、药品和食品制造。
——工厂生命周期各个阶段中所有参与方的信息共享和集成。
