Scope

This standard specifies the structure and classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, inspection certificates, and user manuals, as well as packaging, transportation, and storage for high-activity cobalt-60 sealed radiation sources.
This standard applies to cobalt-60γ sources for long-distance therapy with a radioactive activity (hereinafter referred to as activity) greater than 10 TBq, and cobalt-60γ sources for industrial irradiation. It also applies to cobalt-60γ sources forγ-knife therapy, cobalt-60γ sources for container inspection, and other cobalt-60γ sources with an activity greater than 10 TBq.
