Scope

This standard specifies the measurement method for the acoustic output power of medical ultrasound diagnostic equipment, with the radiation force balance method being the preferred method. When there are technical difficulties in using the radiation force balance method, or provided that the measurement accuracy can be ensured, the hydrophone method can also be used to derive the ultrasound power.
This standard applies to the measurement of the acoustic output power of medical ultrasound diagnostic equipment in the frequency range of 0.5 MHz to 25 MHz.
