Scope

This document describes the following three types of magnetic particle inspection equipment: -- portable or mobile devices; -- fixed equipment; -- dedicated inspection systems for continuous inspection of workpieces, including an inspection line composed of a series of operating stations arranged in sequence. This document also describes equipment for magnetization, demagnetization, illumination, measurement, and monitoring. This document specifies the minimum requirements for the performance and practicality of the equipment provided by suppliers, as well as methods for measuring specific parameters. Where applicable, it also specifies measurement and calibration requirements and in-service inspections.
