Scope

This standard defines the terms and definitions of footwear components, names, bases, materials, testing, processes, equipment, and shoe lasts used in the footwear industry.
This standard applies to sewing, gluing, molding, vulcanization, injection molding, insole insertion, and casting processes, as well as combinations of two or more of these processes. It applies to footwear made from various natural leathers, artificial leathers, synthetic leathers, and textiles, as well as footwear made from two or more materials as the upper part of the shoe.
