Scope

This standard specifies the type tests, factory tests, and option tests for thyristor valves. These thyristor valves are suitable for some static reactive power compensation devices (SVC) in power systems, namely thyristor-controlled reactors (TCRs), thyristor-switched reactors (TSRs), and thyristor-switched capacitors (TSCs). The requirements of this standard apply to both single valve units (single-phase) and multiple valve units (multi-phase). Chapters 4 to 7 of this standard detail the type tests, which are used to verify whether the valve design meets the specified requirements. Chapter 8 outlines the factory tests, which are used to assess the manufacturing quality. Chapters 9 and 10 detail the option tests, which are additional tests beyond the type and factory tests.
