Scope

This standard specifies the type tests, factory tests, and optional tests for thyristor valves. These thyristor valves are suitable for use in static reactive power compensation devices (SVC) for power transmission and distribution systems, including thyristor-controlled reactors (TCRs), thyristor-switched reactors (TSRs), and thyristor-switched capacitors (TSCs). The requirements of this standard apply to both single-valve units (single-phase) and multiple-valve units (multi-phase). Chapters 4 to 7 of this standard detail the type tests, which are used to verify whether the valve design meets the specified requirements. Chapter 8 outlines the factory tests, which are used to assess the manufacturing quality. Chapters 9 and 10 elaborate on the optional tests, which are additional tests beyond the type and factory tests.
