Scope

This standard specifies a method for determining the weather resistance of textiles by exposing them to an artificial climate (including the effects of water and water vapor) in a filtered xenon arc test chamber. The filtered xenon arc light source in the test chamber simulates the solar spectral irradiance specified in Table 4 of CIE 85:1989. This standard is applicable to the testing of the weather resistance or aging resistance of textiles, and it is also applicable to white (bleached or fluorescently whitened) textiles.
