Scope

This standard specifies the personnel, equipment, and materials, as well as the methods and welding quality grading for ultrasonic testing of titanium alloy butt welds in submersibles. This standard applies to ultrasonic testing of titanium alloy butt welds in deep submersibles with an outer diameter of not less than 500 mm and a wall thickness of 10 mm to 110 mm. Ultrasonic testing of other titanium alloy structural welds used in ships can be used as a reference.
