Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, requirements, test methods, and inspection rules for occupant detection devices (hereinafter referred to as "occupant detection devices") installed in car seats. This standard applies to occupant detection devices in the front passenger seats of M1 class cars. Occupant detection devices in other seating positions of M1 class cars and in other types of cars can be implemented with reference to this standard.
