Scope

This standard specifies the general requirements, material requirements, structural requirements, manufacturing requirements, and painting and marking for railway freight cars. This standard applies to newly built railway freight cars with a design speed of less than or equal to 120 km/h and an axle load of less than or equal to 25 t on standard gauge tracks. Newly built railway freight cars with a design speed greater than 120 km/h, an axle load greater than 25 t, and special requirements may refer to this standard for implementation.
