GB/T 6609.2-2009 Chemical analysis methods and determination of physical performance of aluminium hydroxide—Part 2:Determination of loss of mass at 300 ℃ and 1 000 ℃
Basic Information
Scope
This part of GB/T6609 specifies the determination method of the mass loss of alumina at 300℃ and 1000℃. According to convention, the mass loss at 300℃ is expressed as moisture content (MOI), and the mass loss at 1000℃ is expressed as loss on ignition (LOI).
This part is applicable to the determination of mass loss in calcined alumina. The determination range of mass loss at 300℃ is 0.2% to 5%; the determination range of mass loss at 1000℃ is 0.1% to 2%.
This part stipulates that when measuring the MOI and LOI values of the sample, the original data of the measurement results shall be provided. In order to improve the analysis accuracy of the sample, the sample should be air-balanced before analysis, as air-balancing can significantly affect the measurement results of MOI and LOI. The steps of air-balancing and its effects are described in Appendix A.
This part will also involve instrumental analysis methods.
