1.1GB 20936 This section specifies portable, movable, and fixed Type I detectors (as defined in Part 1) for detecting methane concentrations in mine air. Therefore, these detectors or their components can be used in coal mines prone to gas emissions, and the requirements and test methods for the detectors contained in this section are specified in Part 1.
Note: Type I detectors are not allowed to be used until they meet the additional requirements approved by the authorized statutory agencies of coal mines. See Part 1, Section 1.1.
