Scope

This part of GB/T 20936 specifies the general requirements and test methods for the structure, testing, and performance of portable, mobile, and fixed flammable gas or vapor detectors used entirely or partially in explosive environments (including gas mines and potentially explosive environments). When the manufacturer declares that the detector structure has special features or performance exceeding the requirements of this part, this part also applies, but such cases should be verified. If necessary, the test procedures should be expanded to verify the manufacturer's claimed performance. When verifying higher requirements for a performance indicator, other performance indicators do not need to comply with the requirements of this part. However, the reduced performance indicators claimed by the manufacturer (confirmed by the manufacturer's installation manual) should be verified. (For example, a temperature range of 0℃ to 60℃, with the manufacturer claiming an accuracy of ±10% for the temperature range of 0℃ to 40℃ and ±15% for the temperature range of 40℃ to 60℃). Additional tests should be agreed upon between the manufacturer and the inspection agency and described in the test report. This part applies to flammable gas detectors with signal indication, alarm, or other output functions, which are used to warn of explosion hazards and automatically or manually trigger interlocking protection devices. This part also applies to suction-type detectors with built-in sampling systems for safety applications in commercial and industrial non-residential settings. This part does not apply to external sampling systems, laboratory equipment, scientific research equipment, or equipment solely used for process control, nor to open-path (light path) site monitors. For detectors that detect multiple gases, this part only applies to their detection of flammable gases or vapors. This part adds and supplements the general requirements of GB 3836.1. Note
