GB/T 20801.1-2006 Pressure piping code—Industrial piping—Part 1:General
Basic Information
Scope
1.1 GB/T 20801 "Specification for Pressure Pipelines - Industrial Pipelines" stipulates the basic requirements for the design, fabrication, installation, inspection, and safety protection of industrial metal pressure pipelines. 1.2 This part specifies the basic requirements such as the scope of application and pipeline classification of pressure pipelines. 1.3 The industrial metal pressure pipelines referred to in this part (hereinafter referred to as "pressure pipelines") include process equipment, auxiliary equipment, and pressure pipelines belonging to public works within the boundaries of the site. 1.3.1 This part applies to the design and construction of "pressure pipelines" as defined in the "Regulations on Safety Supervision of Special Equipment". According to the regulations, "pressure pipelines" refer to pipelines with a maximum working pressure of 0.1 MPa or higher, carrying gases, liquefied gases, steam, or flammable, explosive, toxic, or corrosive liquids with a maximum working temperature of or above the standard boiling point, and having a nominal diameter of more than 25 mm. 1.3.2 This part also applies to the design and construction of pressure pipelines with a nominal diameter of less than or equal to 25 mm, a maximum working pressure of less than 0.1 MPa, or carrying non-flammable, non-toxic, and non-corrosive liquids in a vacuum environment. 1.4 The scope of application of this part excludes the following: a) Pipelines with a nominal pressure of PN420 or higher; b) Pipelines of military equipment and nuclear facilities; c) Pipelines of oil, gas, and geothermal exploration and extraction devices; d) Pipelines of offshore facilities and coal mine shafts; e) Pipelines dedicated to electrical and telecommunications purposes; f) Pressure pipelines on mobile equipment such as railway locomotives, automobiles, ships, aerospace vehicles, etc.; g) Urban municipal utility pipelines; h) Long-distance (oil and gas) pipelines and oil and gas field gathering pi
