Scope
This standard specifies the method outline, reagents and materials, instruments and equipment, samples, analysis steps, calculation of analysis results, and allowable deviations for determining the free carbon content in continuous casting protective slag by combustion gas capacity method and infrared absorption method.
This standard is applicable to the determination of free carbon content in continuous casting protective slag. The combustion gas capacity method has a measurement range of 0.50% to 10.00% (mass fraction); the infrared absorption method has a measurement range of 0.50% to 30.00% (mass fraction).
