Scope
This standard applies to heating cables used in low temperatures, such as for heating living facilities and preventing ice formation. This standard applies to cables with a rated voltage of 300/500 V. Industrial heating cables will be specified in a separate standard. This standard only applies to cables and not to any other components of the heating system. This standard specifies the cable structure using one or multiple conductors, and recommends the combination of approved insulation and sheathing materials. Bare conductors and conductors with protective conductors with a supply voltage of 50 V or less are not included in the scope of this standard.
