Scope
This standard specifies the purge and trap-gas chromatography method for the determination of eight substances, including benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, p-xylene, m-xylene, o-xylene, isopropylbenzene, and styrene, in seawater. This standard is applicable to the determination of eight benzene derivatives in polluted estuaries and near-shore waters. When the sampling volume is 5 mL, the method detection limits for the target compounds are 0.934μg/L to 1.25μg/L, and the determination limits are 3.74μg/L to 5.00μg/L. The specific detection limits and determination limits for the target compounds are detailed in Appendix A.
