GB/T 18802.32-2021 Low-voltage surge protective devices—Part 32:Surge protective devices connected to photovoltaic installations—Selection and application principles

Scope

This part of GB/T 18802 provides guidelines for the selection, installation, and coordination of SPDs for photovoltaic systems connected to an AC-side voltage not exceeding 1,000 V (50 Hz or 60 Hz) and a DC-side voltage not exceeding 1,500 V.
The scope of photovoltaic systems ranges from photovoltaic arrays or a group of interconnected photovoltaic modules to include related cables, protection devices, and inverters, all the way to the connection point of the distribution cabinet or the public grid connection point.
This part considers the following SPDs used in different locations and types of photovoltaic systems:
——Photovoltaic systems located on the roofs of buildings;
——Ground-mounted photovoltaic systems, similar to ground-based power stations, characterized by the use of multi-point grounding and a grid-like grounding system.
The term "photovoltaic system" is used to refer to the above two types of photovoltaic systems; the term "photovoltaic power station" is only used to refer to ground-based power systems that can be arbitrarily expanded and have multiple grounding points.
For protecting photovoltaic systems containing energy storage batteries, additional requirements may be necessary.
Note 1: GB/T 16895 (all parts), GB/T 21714 (all parts), and IEC 61643-12 are also applicable.
Note 2: This part only deals with SPDs, not surge protection elements integrated into equipment [e.g., in inverters, power conversion equipment (PCEs)].
