Scope

This standard specifies the requirements for materials, loads, calculations, and construction of reinforced concrete tanks in the petrochemical industry. This standard applies to the structural design of cast-in-place reinforced concrete tanks, non-liquid storage tanks, and underground or semi-underground pump houses in the petrochemical industry. This standard does not apply to the structural design of prefabricated reinforced concrete tanks, prestressed concrete tanks, or caisson structures. This standard does not address the foundation treatment of tanks. When foundation treatment is required, it shall comply with the provisions of the current national technical specifications for foundation treatment.
