Scope

This standard specifies the management requirements for human biological sample banks (hereinafter referred to as "sample banks"), including their organizational structure, personnel, facilities, equipment, reagents and consumables, and informatization systems.
This standard applies to institutions engaged in the management of human biological sample banks.
The human biological sample banks specified in this standard are used for conducting scientific research activities, and they are not allowed to provide sperm, ova, gametes, or embryo preservation services to the general public. Human biological sample banks shall strictly comply with relevant laws, regulations, and provisions on the management of human genetic resources.
